KUCONC

KUCONC (Kathmandu University Circle of Noble Chemineers) is the student group of the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering at Kathmandu University. KUCONC serves as a platform that unites all Chemical Engineering students, offering them an immersive learning experience and a strong representation within the department.

The club is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and engagement among students by organizing a wide range of events, workshops, and competitions. These activities not only enhance technical knowledge and skills but also provide students with opportunities to explore career paths, connect with industry professionals, and showcase their talents. So, it's a platform for students to connect, learn, and engage in extracurricular activities related to chemical engineering.

These events provide students with opportunities to enhance their technical skills, explore career paths, and network with other professionals and alumni in the field. KUCONC also actively participates in various competitions and projects, showcasing the talents and creativity of its members.

KUCONC Goals

To provide a proper strong platform to students for skill development and collaborative learning opportunities. KUCONC’s main goal is to provide ample opportunities for the student to learn various essential skills and knowledge by collaborating with various organizational and non-organizational bodies.

Alchemy

Alchemy is the annual technical symposium organized by KUCONC, the student club of the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering at Kathmandu University. This event unites students, faculty, and industry professionals from diverse fields within chemical engineering, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovation.

Alchemy features technical presentations, workshops, and panel discussions on cutting-edge topics, fostering an environment where participants can share insights and ideas. It also serves as a platform for students to showcase their research, projects, and ideas, offering valuable opportunities to network with potential employers and mentors.

The symposium includes inclusive events that encourage participation from all students within the department, enhancing their skills and involvement in extracurricular activities and departmental programs. Alchemy is also the perfect occasion for launching the latest edition of the departmental magazine, which highlights faculty and student achievements, articles, photos, and more.

Alchemy 23

Alchemy 2023 began with a LaTeX workshop on August 11, 2023, featuring Dr. Kundan Lal Shrestha as the main speaker. The workshop focused on scientific writing using LyX, providing valuable insights to participants.

The second event, the All Nepal Chemical Engineering Futsal Tournament, took place on August 26, 2023. Teams from all Chemical Engineering batches at Kathmandu University, along with a team from Pulchowk Campus, competed in this friendly tournament.

On August 25, 2023, the third event of Alchemy 2023, titled “DL - 101: Leveraging GCCs,” was successfully conducted as part of the Chem Fusion series. The session was led by Mr. Harish Chandra Bhandari and provided an in-depth look into leveraging GCCs.

The fourth event, the All Nepal High School Quiz, was held on September 17, 2023. A total of six teams from five schools participated, with Xavier International College emerging as the winner.

The main events of Alchemy 2023 took place on September 28 and 29. These included project demonstrations, fun activities like games and live karaoke, and a series of talks focusing on Industry 4.0. The speakers included Mr. Nirajan Janagam, Deputy Mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality; Mr. Birendra Raj Panday, Vice President of CNI Nepal; and Dr. Chandika Prasad Bhatta, Director of SEZ, among others, who shared their insights on the theme.
